EVENTS
One great event can turn strangers into lifelong friends
School events are an essential part of our Windsor community, and the calibre of Windsor P&C events is well known (and often emulated) in other schools. We are very focused on providing a mixture of events to cater to a wide audience. If you are new to our school, attending our events during the year is a fantastic way to get to know other parents, children and the staff.
Goals of our events
It is the goal of our P&C to provide events which foster a spirit of community. To keep burning the passion and enthusiasm of ‘the Windsor way’ and generally, make the business of school an altogether enjoyable one. Some events also provide us with an opportunity to fundraise for our school. If an event is both enjoyable and profitable, this is great! As always, they wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our volunteers. If you see an event here which looks like fun, reach out and get involved. Your help is always welcome!Below is some information on the various P&C events we hold at Windsor State School.
Windsor’s major fundraising event is WindsorFest, held every two years. This Fair is a HUGE event for the school which our children and the wider community look forward to immensely. There are rides, stalls, sideshow alley, fairy floss, dagwood dogs, face painting, entertainment and fun, fun, fun! See what it’s all about.
A special parent evening, consisting of a world-class concert of accomplished vocalists and musicians. Following the concert there is a dinner interlude. After which time all the formalities are well and truly set aside when live band karaoke takes over the centre stage. Find out all about this amazing event.

Music Extravaganza
This is our end of year music concert, brought to you by the young musicians and choirs of Windsor State School. An evening where all the WSS music ensembles perform a concert for friends and family. The concert is an opportunity for everyone to reflect on how far the children have come throughout the year. Upcoming Extravaganza dates and times will be published via the school and P&C communication channels.

Mother’s Day Celebration
The Mother’s Day Celebration is a yearly event celebrating our wonderful mums, grandmothers, and carers. It is usually held on a Saturday, as close as possible to Mother’s Day. This is a beautiful day to relax in the company of our fantastic Windsor Mums, meet new friends or catch up with old ones. Such a lovely way to celebrate our beautiful school and the wonderful mums that help make it so special. Event tickets are available via Try Booking, with more details communicated prior to the event through our usual channels. Keep an eye out for this special event.
Father’s Day Pub Lunch
Meet up with other Windsor Dads, and get away for a pub lunch in honour of Father’s Day. A casual affair which is a great chance for our dads, grandads, and carers to catch up and meet new people. Tickets are available via Try Booking, and details for the upcoming event will be issued via our communication channels.
Mother’s Day & Father’s Day Stalls
In addition to our two events, the P&C also holds stalls to help children pick a gift for Mum or Dad for their special day. Both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls have a range of gifts for $5 or $10. There are great ideas for parents, grandparents and carers. There is nothing better than knowing your gift was hand-picked from your child to you! We ALWAYS need volunteers to run this stall, as it is VERY BUSY.
Cupcake Friday
Throughout the year, you may see cupcakes go on sale, and the crowds go wild! Cupcake Day is a fantastic fundraiser used for various school and P&C initiatives. Generally, there are no cupcakes left as we are catering to those hungry afternoon tummies! Our wonderful parents bake the cakes and serve in the stalls.
Election Day BBQ & Bake Stall
What better way to take your mind off a long line than a delicious sausage sizzle or a sweet treat? This is a great fundraiser for our school, with so many people lining up to vote. Our bake stall is usually sold out – we can never have too many sweets, cupcakes, cookies, slices, cakes or muffins. The number of times we have burned off to Lutwyche for more sausages, bread or sauce is too many to count! We usually roster serving on our stalls and BBQ and we would love your help. Keep an eye out through our communication channels for callouts to help with our election day fundraisers.
Mid-Year Concert
An evening of music where all Windsor State School choral and instrumental music ensembles perform a concert to an audience of friends and family. A fantastic opportunity for our budding musicians to play in front of a live audience. For many children this will be their first on stage performance. Notification of these concerts will be communicated by the school and P&C.
